Outstanding Manuscript Award Nomination
SEEKING NOMINATIONS FROM MENTORS: OUTSTANDING MANUSCRIPT AWARD
The Nutrition Obesity Research Center at Harvard is delighted to announce an Outstanding Manuscript Award to be given to a First Author performing investigation in nutrition, obesity, and/or metabolism. This award is intended for an Assistant Professor, Instructor, or Post-Doctoral Fellow who has made a significant scientific contribution as first author of a manuscript. The award will be announced at our Annual Symposium on June 30, 2020, and will be accompanied by a $1000 Travel Award to a conference of the awardee’s choosing.
Eligible manuscripts include those reporting science broadly related to nutrition, metabolism, and obesity published (electronically or in print) between January 1, 2019 and March 1, 2020. Nominated first-author applicants should be affiliated with Harvard Medical School (HMS), Harvard School of Public Health, or an HMS Affiliate institution. We welcome nominations from across the research spectrum (T1-T4). Only original research articles should be nominated (i.e., no review articles or perspectives).
Nominations must be received by 5PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, and decisions will be communicated by Friday, May 15, 2020. We hope that awardees will be able to attend the Annual Symposium held at Harvard Medical School on June 30, 2020, to receive the award.
INFORMATION: The ideal nomination will come from a NORCH member who is the First Author’s research mentor, laboratory PI, or division or department chief/chair. The nominee should be an Assistant, Instructor, or Post-Doctoral Fellows. We will consider up to two co-first authors to share the award. Nominations are brief and require only
- Manuscript citation or PMID
- Biosketch or CV for the first author nominee(s)
- Brief optional mentor statement.
Preference will be given to high-impact manuscripts with novel and/or highly significant findings related to nutrition, obesity, or metabolism. Please provide nominations by clicking here.
